EVENTS

The club organises a wide variety of events throughout the year both competitive and social. Our members also enjoy the opportunity of taking part in neighbouring club events through invitations we receive from other clubs, for social, marshalling and competition activities.

Competition Events

Events run by the club tend to be more on the Road Rally and Autotest/Autosolo front these days, but in the past we have been co-promoters of the Imber Stages and we are currently looking for a suitable venue to resurrect our Stage Rally involvement. However, for the moment our members Stage Event interests are catered for by the invitations we receive from other clubs.

Throughout the year we run several 12 Car Navigational Events, Scatters and Treasure Hunts.

Off road interests are mainly served by our Autotests and Autosolos for several years now our July event the ‘Summer Madness’ Grass Autotest has been a round of the ASCMC Grass Autotest Championship, now known as the SOUTHERN Grass Autotest Championship. As one of the first few clubs in the South to run an Autosolo we have now been successfully organising these events for a number of years. Our main Solo June as part of the Abingdon CAR-nival of Motorsport and is a round of the BTRDA Newcomers Autosolo Challenge.

Several of our members are actively involved in Historic & Tarmac Stage Rallying, Sprinting, Hillclimbing and Classic Trials and are always happy to help others get involved with the sport, by offering advice and guidance or simply having a place for a navigator or member of a service crew.

Marshalling

Each year the club receives invitations to supply Marshals at major events. This usually starts off with the Wyedean Stages in February followed shortly after by the Sunseeker and then various other events throughout the year before we send a group in to Wales to do our bit for the WRC Wales Rally GB.

Social Events

The club has an active social calendar and at specific club nights in the year there is usually an activity going on such as a Quiz, or Table Top Rally; Plus the opportunity for a beer and a natter with others who share a common interest in motoring pastimes.

Club Nights are the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month and held at The Falkland Cricket Club. However, on the 5th Thursday of the month we have a roaming Club Night, which varies in location and could more often than not be something like a Skittles or Ten Pin Bowling night. Details of which are published in the club magazine, in the social calendar section.

Our Social Secretary also arranges a variety of different events during in the year and these can range from Go Karting to organised trips.
